According to Grant Cameron, ETs use the dream state to visit us, because they are not part of our third-dimensional existence, because our reality is held in place by our rational mind. Since they are not of this world, to interact with us they have to bypass our logical mental concepts of the world. This is why they come to us in our dreams or in dreamlike states.
