For him, I had done this—for him, I’d gladly wrecked myself and my immortal soul. And now I had eternity to live with it.
Kassandra
Is that the first hint of bitterness that we're seeing?

I hated the bright dresses that had become my daily uniform, but didn’t have the heart to tell Tamlin—not when he’d bought so many, not when he looked so happy to see me wear them. Not when his words weren’t far from the truth.
Kassandra
he never told you what to wear before. you were comfortable in a tunic and pants all the time; that's what you wore and he never said a thing so why not just go back to that? Like you were never worried about it; you never cared about him caring about what you were wearing before so there's already a little bit of bitterness. you're resentful that he's telling you what to do and keeping you locked up in the house doing domestic things and you're mad. you won't tell him the truth about the dresses. Miss Maas didn't even give y'all a fighting chance Also kinda the same thing with her dad and the wards he put on their house and she didn't have the heart to tell them they were fake like Feyre you gotta start telling the truth

Honestly … Honestly, Ianthe, with her bright gold hair, those teal eyes, elegant features, and supple body, looked more like Tamlin’s mate. His equal.
Kassandra
Again with the irrational insecurity

And that would send another message—perhaps to the person I so desperately hoped had forgotten I existed.
Kassandra

He kept his own quarters, deeming it vital for me to have my own space.
Kassandra
Totally but also you'd think after everything they've been through that kind of formality would go out the window and they'd want to spend every minute together very interesting that Maas does this I guess it makes for a more interesting story but just feels so unfair

“It’s fine,” I breathed. “I understand.”

“Isn’t that what all human women wish for? A handsome faerie lord to wed and shower them with riches for the rest of their lives?”
Kassandra
It's what the tiktok women want

“I don’t want to marry a High Lord. I just want to marry him.”
Kassandra
Welp. "just him" isthe high lord you can't have one without the other. and I get that his responsibilities as high lord are getting in the way of your relationship but you guys didn't start on realistic terms anyway. So now that things have changed you have to adjust
5%
Flag icon
“One doesn’t exist without the other. He is what he is. He will always, always seek to protect you, whether you like it or not. Talk to him about it—really talk to him, Feyre. You’ll figure it out.”
Kassandra
Pretty good advice lucien they really do need to talk. I will say, more pressure's on her to be understanding of tamlin's behavior and not on tamlin to be understanding of what she's going through. and also poor lucien he's just like after everything that's happened I just need for things to be good again

“Tamlin got what I didn’t,” Lucien said softly, his breathing ragged. “We all heard your neck break. But you got to come back. And I doubt that he will ever forget that sound, either. And he will do everything in his power to protect you from that danger again, even if it means keeping secrets, even if it means sticking to rules you don’t like. In this, he will not bend. So don’t ask him to—not yet.”
Kassandra
And honestly i agree for now like she's going through it and he does need to be more reasonabe but like give it more time like are his rules so bad. Guess its the fact that she's grown and had rules at all

A few days before the wedding ceremony, guests began arriving, and I was grateful that I’d never be High Lady, never be Tamlin’s equal in responsibility and power. A small, forgotten part of me roared and screamed at that, but …
Kassandra
The wedding would raise morale she does have duties to fulfill but how can she do tgat without losing herself she like only gives herself two options

A fitting end would have been me in a grave, burning in hell.

I knew then that she’d inspire hordes of young Fae females to join her order—not for worshipping their Mother and Cauldron, but to learn how she lived, how she could shine so brightly and love herself, move from male to male as if they were dishes at a banquet.
Kassandra
But like why is that always what confidence is portrayed as

Tamlin I’ll see him tomorrow.” Tomorrow, because tonight, Ianthe had told me, we’d spend apart. As dictated by their long-held traditions.

… They had the look of people who had been together a long time, fought at each other’s sides. Tamlin’s friends. He’d introduced me to them, and I’d immediately forgotten their names. I hadn’t tried to learn them again.
Kassandra
"oh I love him, he's the only one for me I'd give up everything for him." but i won't try to meet his friends. she only wants it to be the too of them but if you're gonna be in relationship with someone you're also gonna have relationships with their people.

In a few hours, I’d be married. I’d have my happy ending, whether I deserved it or not. But this land, these people—they would have their happy ending, too. The first few steps toward healing. Toward peace. And then things would be fine.
Kassandra
no it won't the problem in the first place was that the weight of responsibility was thrust on her as a child and then the responsibility of saving all of Prythian and now the weight of Prythian rebuilding Prythian's piece is reluctantly on her shoulders. she can't carry that weight or if she does she can't do it alone. gotta change her idea of what happy ending means

Kassandra
Super weird and intrusive the way he marked her and forced this connection between the two of them and also feyre you were askong to be saved. Granted you were asking tamlin to save you

“Likewise.” He stalked a few steps away. “You think I enjoy being awoken every night by visions of you puking? You send everything right down that bond, and I don’t appreciate having a front-row seat when I’m trying to sleep.”
