To let me have even the slightest control no matter how bad you think you know better.” I let out a strangled breath, knowing it’s not that easy. “Baby, I don’t know how to do that.” She tries looking away, but I won’t let her break eye contact as she lets it out. “But I’ll try the best I can.”
Come with me. Three words that haunt me still. But not as much as the two I replied with. I can’t.
“We happened to be at the right place at the right time when neither of us should have been.”
“When you meet the right person, it doesn’t matter what happens because fate will always bring you together.”
“Ivy,” he cuts me off. “Please? I need you here cheering me on like you always do.
“It’s always been you, Ivy,” he cuts me off confidently. “Why shouldn’t we label it? We’re always going to be friends, but we’re also more than that. I don’t want to see some other guy with his hands on you, so I might as well make my claim now.”
