OFTEN AS CHRISTIANS WE WANT GOD TO PERFORM when we want him to. We want him when we need him. Otherwise, we don’t want to be bothered by him. We want a god who will perform according to our criteria, according to our timing and agenda. Even when we are the ones who have acted unfaithfully and are reaping the consequences of those actions, this is the kind of god we want.
