God, who does not cause humans to sin, can nevertheless use human sin and folly to accomplish his divine purpose. In other words, God uses Samson in spite of his wrong motives and actions (cf. Gen 45:8; 50:20; 2 Chr 25:20; Acts 2:23; Rom 8:28–29). “From the following stories it becomes clear that left to himself, Samson would never have become involved in God’s or even Israel’s agenda.
