A Most Beautiful Thing

It was like God existed everywhere but here.

The gift that we gave each other was to listen.

It takes a village to raise a child, and our village is gang members, drug dealers, drug addicts, and prostitutes. It’s easy to become a product of this, but I feel like the coaches are using rowing to get us into college and to change our village.

“Don’t grow weary in doing good, for you shall reap if you don’t give up.”

The power of speaking the right words to a young person can do something magical. I feel unstoppable.
