She wasn’t just my girl, she was legally my wife. They didn’t know that, though. Neither did Lexi.
“You can’t go killing your boyfriend-in-law!” “Don’t say funny shit when I’m murderous!”
“I’ve loved you since you were six years old. I know I’ve messed up a lot, but please come to me when you’re ready. I won’t survive without you.”
“I love you,” she murmured softly, half in a sex coma. Those words would have had me running a mile if anyone else had said them, but never with Lexi. “I love you, too,” I whispered, dropping a kiss to her lips, and soaking in her touch as her arms wrapped gently around me, holding me in place. “You have no idea how much.”
She was the other half to my fucking soul, and I’d be damned if I’d let Axel or Myles fucking keep her.
“You need to move on because she’ll break you. Take it from someone who’s already been there. I get it. She’s hot as sin, she’s funny, good in bed, and her laugh is the best sound in the fucking world, yet she’ll never return those feelings you have. I never let her go, and I never will, but I’m aware that means I’m in for a life of unbearable pain without her wanting me. She’s the other half of my fucking soul, Axel, and she’s slowly killing me,”
“You’re mine, and you always will be. You’re the half that makes me whole and I’d do anything for you. You want me to steal someone’s kid?” I half joked, considering if that would help or not.
“You’re an asshole. One day, a woman’s going to come along and bring you to your knees, and I hope like hell she fixes the broken parts of you. Whoever she is, I feel fucking sorry for her for having to endure your bullshit,” I snapped, a snort leaving him as he opened the door.
