“Turns out, I enjoy the company of your shadow more than any other,” he said in a low voice that set my pulse racing. “So go ahead and walk away from me, Blue, but I’ll be right behind you.”
That when we stood before each other and he saw a queen, I saw a king staring back at me.
“He’s trying to get a rise out of you,” I said, and he nodded, apparently unable to form a sentence beyond that. “He can stay for tonight then maybe we can find another room for him tomorrow.” “Or I murder him now and the problem resolves itself,”
“I’m yours, Roxy,” he growled against my lips. “For every single second I have in this world, I’m all yours. And after that I’ll still be yours, wherever I end up after I’m gone, I’ll belong right here with you.”
“Oh. And just in case it wasn’t clear, baby, I’m not going to be anyone’s but yours. So maybe you and me should get hitched and I can show you what a real wedding night looks like?”
“It was cold over there.” Seth pointed at his own bed. “And there was a chilly breeze blowing in under the door.” “You’re an air Elemental,” I spat, stalking back and forth in front of his shield as I heaved breaths in and out, hungry for a fight. “Yeah, and I’m a Werewolf!” He got to his feet, wiping away the blood from his now healed nose on the back of his hand. “I need snuggles. Without snuggles, I get cold and lonely. And Darcy went to get breakfast, so your bear arms were going to waste, and I snuck in for a little hug time. I don’t see what the big deal is.”

“Because you’ve never let anyone love you but your sister. You don’t trust the world and you have damn good reason for that, but I’m not your enemy. I know I’ve hurt you, but I did it because I love you in a way that’s bigger than every galaxy in this universe. I was miserable before you showed up in my life, and now you’ve awoken a man in me who I actually fucking like, and I don’t wanna lose him almost as much as I don’t wanna lose you. So yeah, I’m going to put myself between you and death at every chance I get, and maybe that scares you, but it doesn’t scare me, Blue. It gives me a purpose

“I was yours the first time you called me Blue.”
“Are we…back together, Blue?” Orion asked after a while, making my heart squeeze with a thousand good feelings. “I don’t think we were ever really apart, Lance,”
My fangs lengthened at the mere idea of that and I shot toward him, slamming into an air shield the same moment a violent earthquake knocked me to the ground. “See?” Seth said innocently, giving Darcy the big eyes. “He’s so easily riled up. He’s like a gorilla-sized chihuahua.”
“I will kneel for you as you would kneel for me. You’re my king and I’ll rub my knees raw for you until you’re sated,”
“You have me leashed and collared, Darcy Vega. I’ll always be close by, watching you from the dark for as long as you’ll have me there.”
“You are meant for the sunlight, Lance Orion. So you’ll stand with me in it or else we’ll stay in the dark together,”
She was my destiny, and there was no two ways about that. I would follow her so far into the light that I’d go blind, or so deep into the dark that I’d be lost forever.
“So hot,” Darcy said under her breath as she watched me, shifting in her seat as desire filled her eyes. “Miss Vega, if you keep looking at me like that, I will bring you up here, bend you over my desk and spank you in front of everyone. Is that what you want?”
“The reason for doing bad things are what defines a person. And you’ve never done one bad thing without trying to do it for a good reason.”
“Hi Lavinia.” I smirked at the dark portal, raising my hands as I prepared to start the spell which would cut her off from this pool of power. “I just came here to say fuck you.”
“Are you feeling okay?” Lance asked like I hadn’t just snapped at him. “I’m fine,” I ground out. “She collapsed again,” Darius said and I shot him a glare that marked him as a traitor. He shrugged, showing me exactly where his loyalty lay and I punched him in the arm. “You and your sister are violent women,” he muttered, though not like he had an issue with it.
“I’ve got you, little shrew,” he murmured reassuringly, a soft, teddy bear of a Dragon peering down at me instead of a raging animal as I felt the truth of that statement.
“I’m gonna go tell the others about all this, little shrew. I want you to know you have a weight of Dragon gold to buy any cure in this world that you need, and the full wrath of my Order to help you find an answer to this curse.”
“What is it?” Orion called up to me. “A book,” I called back. “Very funny,” Orion growled. “What’s it called?” “You’re very grumpy today.”
“Do you think I’m going to die?” I asked in a whisper, chewing on my lower lip. “No. Because I won’t rest until you’re safe,” he said fiercely. “I am safe. I’m with you.”
“What’s gotten into you?” he growled, not playing my game. “You find out you’re cursed and you sit here smiling.” “I’m beside the love of my life in a magical library underground in a world I didn’t even know existed a couple of years ago. I’ve always been an optimist, but now I have a real reason to believe in miracles.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” I swore and he nodded, his expression settling into something demonic. “I know,” he said, his voice rough with grit. “Because I’m not going to let them take you from me, Blue, even if they come down from the heavens themselves to try and rip you from my arms. I am not named after the hunter constellation for no reason. I will make the stars my prey if they set you in their sights, and so help me, I will carve every one of them out of their seats in the sky and watch them fall.”
“Which book would you go into?” I asked Orion, brushing my fingers over the thick stubble on his jaw. “There is no story I would choose to live in but ours,”
“I’d burn every one of these books for you,” he said against my mouth and I pushed my fingers into his hair, sinking my tongue between his lips. “When I’m queen, I’m going to buy you this library,” I decided and he lifted his head, his eyes sparkling with surprise. “Then you can do whatever you like with these books, because they’ll be all yours.”
“No, Roxanya Vega, I don’t call that fucking,” he replied. “I call that worshipping my goddess. I call it making love to the most beautiful woman in all of Solaria, I call it penance for all the bad things I’ve done to you and the least I can offer in retribution for the harm I caused you. But most of all, I call it loving you with the intensity of the sun and the devotion of the moon because you are my end, baby. The only dream I never dared to have for myself. Yet here you are, within reach at all times. And you’d better believe I can’t resist you now that I have you. I plan on marking every

“You’re fucking crazy,” I muttered as he drew back. “No, Roxy. I just know what I want and it’s you. In any way I can have you and every way you’ll offer. So if I can get you to be my bride then I’ll fucking take it. If you never want to get married, then I’ll take that too. If you didn’t want me this close and all I was left with was the option to watch you and hunger for you from afar the way I had to when we were Star Crossed, then I’d take that as well. It’s you, Roxy. Only you. So here I am and I’m yours. The rest of it is up to you.”
“How the hell did you get cutlery tangled down there?” I asked I confusion. “Were you playing chip-chop pube?” Seth asked knowingly. “Exactly, dude!” Leon cried. “Do you know how many people act like they don’t even know what chip-chop pube is? It’s a classic game.” “A classic game involving pubes and cutlery?” I scoffed, folding my arms. “What are the rules?” Caleb asked in amusement. “You have to see how much cutlery you can hang from your pubes,” Leon explained. “It only counts if it stays hanging for more than ten seconds,” Seth added.
“That’s my Dragon,” I said, slapping his arm bracingly and he snorted in amusement. We broke apart and I reached into the nightstand drawer. “Are you getting the lube?” Darius asked and I barked a laugh. “No, I’m getting the vibrating Mammoth shifter tusk you enjoyed so much last time.”
I was close to bursting and she knew it, her wicked smile telling me so in no uncertain terms. The next words died in my throat as she used her power over my hand to shove two shadow fingers up my own ass, the burning sensation of it making me scream like a new born whelp.
“Say hello, baby,” Lavinia encouraged. “Hello Daddy,” it growled in a voice made of nightmares and I screamed. I screamed and fucking screamed like I had never screamed before.
But before he could make it there, Geraldine dove onto the bed, straddling Vard and slapping him forcefully around the face. “Ah!” he cried, his hands raising to blast her off of him, but she tethered them to his chest with vines and cast a dick-shaped eggplant in her hand before shoving it deep into his mouth to silence his screams.
“Can we start off by getting pancakes?” “Baby, if you want pancakes then I’ll happily buy you a whole damn pancake house. I’m spending the day in the company of that smile on your face and the night bathing in the sound of your screams. Your every desire is my command and I’m making sure they’re all fulfilled today.” Darius tugged on my hand to make me move faster and I bit my lip at the mere thought of that.
“I’ll love you ‘til the world is dust,” Orion breathed and those words sent a delicious tremor down to the centre of my being. “I’ll love you even beyond then,”
“Lance!” Francesca snapped. “This is serious. Do you understand what’s happening right now?” “Perfectly. I’m being arrested while I’m trying to fuck my mate,” he growled against my lips, his hands sliding up the back of my little nightgown, grasping my ass and making me moan loudly.
“You’re a good man, Darius. So much better than the monster who tried to forge you in his image. The world will be a far emptier place without you in it.”
