He kissed me like the world was ending and I was the only solid piece of it left in existence.

“I knelt for Darcy in the arena,” I admitted, staring him straight in the eye. “She is my queen, whether that be by the choice of the stars or a fate carved by my own hand. I was always meant to kneel for her.”
“They’re cuddling,” Darcy whisper-squealed and Tory shushed her again but started suppressing a laugh. “It’s called a man hug,”

“I am owed nothing from you and yet you have given me everything. I am always surprised at what you hand me so willingly.”

“Which book would you go into?” I asked Orion, brushing my fingers over the thick stubble on his jaw. “There is no story I would choose to live in but ours,”
“I call that worshipping my goddess.

“Fucking hell,” I cursed. “What the fuck are you doing, dickwad?”
“I knew it’d be you,” he said, his voice dry as a sideways smile hooked up his lips. “It’s always you.”
“I’m gonna make you repeat that once we get out of this, Seth,” he said, giving me one of his cocky grins, but it fell away as we closed in on the surface, and he gave me an intense look. “But just in case, I want you to know that I wouldn’t pick anyone else in this world to die beside. You’re my ride or die, you know that? I fucking love Darius and Max, but you and me? We’ve got something special that I can’t even explain sometimes.”
“Yeah. I literally suck all of my friends’ dicks aside from you guys and that’s just because you’re into girls. It was just a BFF BJ. No biggie. In fact, I’m gonna go and offer Darius one.” Seth yanked the door open and held his hand up with his two fingers extended in farewell. “Is that the peace sign?” I asked in confusion
“Yeah. I peace sign all of my BFF BJ buddies. Now you know.”
I was a stupid mutt who only needed a tiny bone offered to him to send him into overdrive. And Caleb had had a massive bone. It was my nature to want to bury it somewhere, but my mouth clearly hadn’t been the best option.

“Because nothing in this world means more to me than you do, Gerry. And there are no differences we can’t overcome to be together.”

“Lance!” Francesca snapped. “This is serious. Do you understand what’s happening right now?” “Perfectly. I’m being arrested while I’m trying to fuck my mate,”
“GET OUT!” he roared. “Anyone who stays is going to see me fuck my mate. And if you stay, I will mark you as dead for laying your eyes on her skin.
“When I’m done with you, Blue, you’ll never get the feel of me off of your skin.”
“No time with you would ever have been enough, Roxy. You have to know that. A year, a lifetime, a fucking eternity would never be enough. But I couldn’t let you die. I had to make the choice. I had to-”
I didn’t fear death. But I did fear a destiny which meant I never got to kiss her goodbye.
“No matter what happens with this fate, the war, my father, the throne, all of it pales beside my love for you. And I know I’m not good enough for you but that just makes it all the easier for me to worship you the way you deserve because I won’t ever stop trying to live up to being the man you deserve to have. Not until my dying breath and beyond that too if it’s what you want.” “You’re what I want,” she replied firmly.
“I married her,” I taunted as I swung the axe once more. “And when I return to her with your head hanging from my fist, I’ll bow to her too.”
