“Turns out, I enjoy the company of your shadow more than any other,” he said in a low voice that set my pulse racing. “So go ahead and walk away from me, Blue, but I’ll be right behind you.”

“I’ll be wherever you want me to be, beautiful.”

I missed this man 😭

That when we stood before each other and he saw a queen, I saw a king staring back at me.

“Goodnight, Lance,” I said breathlessly and he pressed his lips to the soft place behind my ear as his fingers ran over the bite to heal it. “Goodnight, Blue.” “Goodnight, roomies,” Seth whispered.

“I’m yours, Roxy,” he growled against my lips. “For every single second I have in this world, I’m all yours. And after that I’ll still be yours, wherever I end up after I’m gone, I’ll belong right here with you.”

bet it’s right at the top,” Darcy laughed, looking out over the incredible view as we crested a high ridge. “Well at least I’ll get to spend the whole day on this mountain with you,” I murmured. “What?” she called back, glancing over her shoulder with the light spilling over her shoulders in a glorious haze. She was so fucking beautiful, it was like the stars had plucked her from my most desperate fantasies.

“How many times do I have to tell you I don’t need protecting?” I hissed. “And how many times do I have to tell you, that I will protect you regardless?” he tossed back in his stern professor tone which just angered me even more.

“I was yours the first time you called me Blue.”

“You have me leashed and collared, Darcy Vega. I’ll always be close by, watching you from the dark for as long as you’ll have me there.”

“You are meant for the sunlight, Lance Orion. So you’ll stand with me in it or else we’ll stay in the dark together,”

“You’re not cursed, Blue,” he said in a way that told me how absolutely terrified he was that I could be. Like saying those words would stop it from being true. I rested my hands over his with an echo of pain in my heart. “But what if I am?” His features twisted and I stared at this dark and forbidding man who would do anything to protect me from this fate. “Then I will sell my soul to save you,” he growled, the power of those words falling into a pit of terror inside me. Because I didn’t want him to pay any price for me. He’d already given up his whole world for me, I wouldn’t let him do it again.

Sobbing

“Because the stars have taken everything from me. My dream, my free will, my status, my family,” his voice thickened on that last word and pain sliced into my heart for him and all he’d lost. “And when there was almost nothing left to take, they gave me you.”

“Which book would you go into?” I asked Orion, brushing my fingers over the thick stubble on his jaw. “There is no story I would choose to live in but ours,” he

Nah I’m done

Where you go, I will follow.

“They made us for each other.”

Sobbing

“I’ll love you ‘til the world is dust,” Orion breathed and those words sent a delicious tremor down to the centre of my being. “I’ll love you even beyond then,” I answered and our lips collided as we accepted this bond and a ripple of power blazed through my body as the stars threaded our souls together.

“When I’m done with you, Blue, you’ll never get the feel of me off of your skin.”
