I guess I just stopped trusting in love to be the thing that would save me.
being madly in love is a temporary condition of insanity,
“If people want to think that life is hard for them, then they are welcome to that idea, believe me. But you don’t have to see it that way. You can look for good things instead.”
love is out there for everyone. It just may not show up in the form we’re expecting.”
This is what love is sometimes: letting the other person go have the life they’re supposed to have.
It’s not perfect. But nothing is perfect. It takes character to live with the imperfect facts of your life and to change the things you can change, and to be willing to live with the things you can’t do anything about.
the more fun you have, the better you are at life.
The whole universe is your playground. You were meant to be happy.
“Don’t stay in a small town if you want to go big, and don’t simply accept the life that got handed to you because you’re too scared to do what’s calling you! Live for yourself because tradition is just another way of saying, stay in your place! Dare to hope for more.”
People were incompetent and clueless, but I was, too—and we were all just doing our best.
when you’re drawn to someone, they also feel the same way about you because it’s the spark in you talking to the spark in them.
nothing ever really is an accident.
you need someone who celebrates all of you, too, who doesn’t just feel comfortable and inevitable. You think you’re out of time, but, honey, you aren’t. And I think when you’re with the right person, it feels effortless. Not perfect maybe, but worlds apart from anything else you’ve ever known.
I have heard that if you smile, it activates actual muscles in your face that improve your mood. Or something like that. Anyway, you should smile.
sometimes we tell ourselves a little story, and we just hold on to it until it feels like it has to be true, and we can’t switch out of it.”
