We put our own needs and wants aside for others. We continue to lose ourselves in relationships (disconnect) instead of building a healthy relationship with ourselves (connect) and remain completely unaware of what a healthy relationship even looks like.
Doing things for the outcome rather than for the joy of the process disconnects you from yourself.
Real work comes from going through the journey, not just from absorbing information.
Now take a moment and ask yourself: How are you connecting to your spirit today? Or are you? When did you listen to your true spirit and allow it to dance? Or have you ever? What happened that killed your spirit? Choosing a career path you never wanted? Not giving yourself any time for yourself? Not doing things that are fun, that make you feel alive, that matter to you?
Reconnecting with your spirit can be anything that brings you back to yourself, that makes you feel alive and human. That allows the essence of you to shine.
They said she had changed since she got “all zen and shit.” But the truth was, they were not in a place themselves to change and grow, so they disappeared. She was totally okay with that.
It’s easier to love yourself than to like yourself. You can hide behind loving yourself. But you can’t hide behind liking yourself. Loving yourself can be a box you check. Liking yourself requires a journey.
