All of this drives us to search for love, for “the one.” We approach this search like our life depends on it. It becomes our Holy Grail. But we never learn about the smaller steps in the process, the dynamics of a real relationship and how to have a healthy one. We don’t learn about codependency, attachment styles, and healthy boundaries, or about why we behave the way we do in love.
