The ego-mind of fear is extremely suspicious, protective, defensive, and insecure. Its core beliefs are rooted in seeking security and the illusory promise of “safety” from loss. In order to attain that safety, it believes being anxious, paranoid, and doubtful will help. In its mild expression, it comes out in the form of social anxiety, fear of being lied to, fear of being abandoned, fear of being rejected, fear of failure, fear of loss, fear of getting sick, fear of injury, or fear of death.
