Sarah gasps. “You were roofied?” She doesn’t give me time to answer before she starts on her tirade. “By Ethan, the hot groomsman? What the fuck? I’m going to kill him—no, I’m going to torture him. I’ll start at his toes and make my way up his legs. I’ll skip his manhood, make him think I’m sparing him, and move to his fingers. It can’t be too hard to rip fingernails off, right? Then I think I’ll chop the fuckers off. Just when he thinks I’m done, that’s when I’ll strike him where it really hurts. Tie a string around his balls tight, then tie the other end to the door and slam it—you know,

“I can hear you thinking, sunshine. Go to sleep. There is always tomorrow,” I tell her as she squirms around a little more before settling into me, into my arms. “Goodnight, Zac. I really hope we always have a tomorrow,” she whispers.
“For future reference, sunshine, if you ever turn your phone off when I’m calling, I will show up on your doorstep, no matter what time it is.” Shrugging, I look up at him. “All I heard just then was: sunshine, if you ever want to see me in person and not just have a phone convo, switch your phone and I’ll be there.” I give the most serene smile I can muster this early in the morning. “I’m okay with that.”
“I think we need to get something straight, sunshine. You haven’t known me for long so I’ll give you that concession. But one thing you need to know is I don’t share.” He annunciates the three words I don’t share slowly. I blink up at him. “Okay, well, I won’t ask to have a sip of your coffee this morning.” I know full well that that’s not what he was referring to. “Maybe I wasn’t very clear, so let me try again.” Turning me around so I’m facing him, Zac tilts my chin until our eyes meet before he says, “I will share anything with you; what I will not share, under any circumstances, is you.”
“Okay, look, I don’t know what this is,” I say, pointing between the both of us, “but if you won’t share, then I won’t be sharing either. So, wherever your little black book of women is, Mr. GQ…” I turn my voice sugary sweet before adding, “…do us both a favour and lose it now, otherwise you might just have more bodies to bury.” “Where the hell have you been all my life, sunshine? You might not know what this is, me and you, and that’s okay, because I know. This is us always having a tomorrow, together.”
As her eyes linger on my straining erection, I groan and readjust myself. I remind her of what she should be doing. “Sunshine, if you want him to come out and play, he’s more than willing. But if I get my hands on you, we won’t be leaving this bedroom for the rest of the day. Your choice.”
I look up to the cage and hear the announcer call the start of Bray’s fight. He’s standing in the cage, looking over at us while staring intently at Reilly. He squints his eyes, mouthing the words, “What’s wrong?” I shake my head and hold up one finger. It’s our signal for me needing him to finish the fight in one round. He looks back to Reilly, and I swear I see something pass over him as his face hardens. Bray nods his head and turns as the announcer starts the countdown. As soon as he yells out one, Bray lands a solid punch to his opponent’s jaw, knocking him out cold.
