As I looked around the perimeter, I actually couldn’t see any place from which someone would be able to see the chains. They weren’t only partially hidden beneath her robe, it seemed they were fully hidden from anyone who wasn’t viewing the statue from a helicopter.
This section was very eye opening to me. I had never heard the stories about how the statue of liberty was originally designed with chains in her arms instead of the book.
