Where do you fancy going this year? Disneyland? A Spanish beach? I know – how about that place where two teachers were ritually murdered?

It was this place, that was all. The primal fear that dark woods bring out in all of us.

We all have images from fairy tales and horror movies in our heads. Add shadows and moonlight and teenage hormones, and suddenly your imagination is on steroids.’

They believed in this essential harmony between people and nature. It’s called animism. The belief that humans, plants, animals, even mountains and lakes and trees, have a spirit. And it’s all part of the greater soul of the universe.’
