What is interesting to me as I get older is the double standards parents and guardians set for the children in their care. For example, ‘Don’t give into peer pressure,’ and, ‘Be yourself.’ Both important life lessons we are taught, yet the moulds and expectations we put on to a child’s AGAB (assigned gender at birth) is one big mess of expectations and pressures.
