“And insane. He’s a hot rockstar and I’m… me.”
“Understood.” He saluted her. “I vow to protect her with my life.”
“Why do you want to know?” “Because I have a sweet tooth, and you own a bakery.” I nudged her playfully. Why wouldn’t I want to know? She was beautiful and freaking hilarious, but there was something else about her that drew me in.
Finding our people in life is important.”
“Will you let me know you?”
“I do know that. I can’t explain it, but I think she could be worth the risk of getting hurt.”
‘don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.’
“It’d be impossible not to notice you.”
“I’m not even going to let you say it. Liv, you’re amazing. If I were your husband, I never would have let you stop, but then again, I never would have let you go.”
I couldn’t get enough. I wanted to know all of her stories, and I wanted to tell her mine.
“What was that for?” I reached out and squeezed her hand. “I’m just glad you’re here.”
“Do you really think I haven’t noticed? I’ve seen the way you look at each other. I’ve seen the way he is around you, all squishy and adorable.”
“He encourages you to do the things you love instead of shoving them out of sight like they’re something to be ashamed of. Benton wanted you to suppress so many of the beautiful things that make you who you are. Jax doesn’t want to change a single thing about you.”
Love isn’t about choosing who you think won’t hurt you. It’s about choosing who’s worth hurting for.
I think he could love you the way you deserve, but more importantly, I think he can help you love yourself the way you deserve.
“Promise me you won’t hurt her, okay?” I turned around and met her sincere eyes with mine. “I never want to hurt her. I only ever want to make her happy.”
I was scared she would shut me down, and I could lose her forever. But I knew deep down, she was a risk worth taking.
“I want to be the man who is better than every other man that came before. So, give me a chance. May I have this dance? Baby, will you let me love you more?”
I knew it would take a while for all her walls to come down, and I was okay with that because I was in it for the long haul.
loved the way she threw her head back with laughter when I made a complete fool of myself, which I did often just to make her smile.
As I gazed into her emerald eyes, I knew I could search the world over and never find a woman more perfect for me than her.
“You wreck me, Olivia Sinclair.” He crashed his lips into mine. “You absolutely wreck me.” The truth was, he wrecked me too.
Liv had given me the greatest gift of all. She’d given me a person to belong to, something worth missing. The least I could do was spend my life making her happy.
I wasn’t sure what was going on in Liv’s mind. I just knew I had to let her know, that no matter how much she tried to push me away, I wasn’t going anywhere.
For what it's worth, I really do believe Jax loves you. I’ve certainly never seen him like this. That boy would go to the moon and back for you.”
“I’ll wait as long as you need me to because you are what’s been missing from my life. You’re home to me. I love you, Liv.”
I smiled down at her. “I donut want to live without you.” She laughed softly, falling into my arms. At that moment, I held my entire world in my hands.
With Liv, I no longer felt I was missing something. Instead, I felt like I’d found the place my heart belonged. I was finally home.
I always picked at least one slow song so I had an excuse to hold her close.
“I may not know everything that’s going on, but I think he really does want you to be happy, even if that means he doesn’t get to be.”
