“I’m not even going to let you say it. Liv, you’re amazing. If I were your husband, I never would have let you stop, but then again, I never would have let you go.”

“Liv, you deserve to be so much more than in the background of someone else’s story. You deserve to be center stage.”

Despite how much I tried to deny my feelings for Jax, I wanted to soak up as much time with him as I could.

Maybe Jax and I were a bad idea, but I had to admit, I loved this song.

“The last week and a half, I feel like I finally have you back. Ever since Jax came into the picture, you’ve been more you than you’ve been in years. For fuck’s sake, you’re singing again. You’re writing songs and actually considering giving this music thing a go. This is huge, Olivia. Jax isn’t Benton. You know how I know that?” I looked over at her. “He encourages you to do the things you love instead of shoving them out of sight like they’re something to be ashamed of. Benton wanted you to suppress so many of the beautiful things that make you who you are. Jax doesn’t want to change a single thing about you.”

Love isn’t about choosing who you think won’t hurt you. It’s about choosing who’s worth hurting for.

I ran as fast as my heels allowed until I could jump into his arms, right where I belonged.

As I gazed into her emerald eyes, I knew I could search the world over and never find a woman more perfect for me than her.

“You wreck me, Olivia Sinclair.” He crashed his lips into mine. “You absolutely wreck me.” The truth was, he wrecked me too.

Liv had given me the greatest gift of all. She’d given me a person to belong to, something worth missing. The least I could do was spend my life making her happy.
