to eat meditatively. Using every sense, I took small, thoughtful bites of my food. They told me to listen for any sound, even if the sound was silence, and breathe deeply and gratefully. Each bite of food was a gift from the sun, which provided the energy for growth; the rain that provided the moisture; the earth that provided stability and nutrients for the roots. When I ate, I was one with the universe: the sun, the rain, the soil.
