“You will respect me!” Eldas shouts. “Be someone worthy of respecting first!” I slam the door behind me.
“To this world. To the next. To the people we meet between and the bonds we share.”
am not made for dreams. I am made to rule.” “I think you’re made for whatever you want to be.” “You don’t know me in the slightest.” Worry drifts in and out of his words. “I think I’m starting to. I know I want to.”
“What’re we toasting to, this time?” I ask. He thinks a moment. “To tomorrow.” “What’s tomorrow?” “Everything. May tomorrow hold every possibility. And may we be bold and hungry enough to take them for our own.”
Love is choice, I told Luke, what seems like forever ago, and I have never found it to be truer. I cannot be certain of what I feel for Eldas if I don’t choose him freely.
He was giving me choice—the choice to stay in Capton, or leave, no matter if it was for Midscape or not. Love is choice.
Just dream, Eldas, and then follow those dreams. I have to go to know.
