To their surprise, it hadn’t been the loss of privacy that everyone minded most. Twinned thinking nullified that from the outset: it was difficult to abhor someone else’s behavior, for example, when you also instantly understood why they had gone about that behavior to begin with. (Though it did lead to some interesting new marital arrangements.)
