“You were usually standing on the opposite side of the deck, not paying me any attention,” she whispers. There’s no malice in her tone, but I still feel like an idiot for not noticing. I lean down until my lips hover near hers. “I’m paying attention now.”
Ten thousand people, but none of them have made me feel like her.” I lock my gaze on hers. “I love you, Reagan. I have fallen in love with you. Ten thousand people, but I just want you.”
“Yes,” Reagan answers for us and leans up on her toes to kiss me. Fucking finally. “I should warn you, though. I’ve fallen so deeply in love with you. You’re not getting rid of me now.”
“Don’t need luck. I’ve got your heart in my hands,” he says, voice fading as he walks out of my room.
“I almost forgot to give you your birthday card.” He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a red piece of paper. “You made it?” I ask as I take it from him. The construction paper is cut into a perfect heart shape. He grins as I unfold it. Reagan, My heart is yours. Marry me? Adam
Of course, she knew because Adam thinks of everything, and if he were going to ask anyone for permission to marry me, it’d be her. She’s my family. And now he is too.
