However, a look at the history leaves suspect many of the claims made by the “King James Only” movement—most notably, the King James Bible was not the first authorized version, but the third. This chapter will highlight key features in the history of English Bible translation as well as within the King James Version itself and interact with several of the most significant “King James Only” arguments.
