It may feel awkward or even confusing to think that God didn’t scientifically correct the incorrect views of the earth being flat or the sky as a solid dome with water held above it. Remember, God used what was familiar to the people at that time to communicate so they could understand what he wanted to say to them. God’s purpose in writing Genesis was not to give them a twenty-first-century science textbook to counter evolutionary teaching.
