James A. M. Muncy is the president and founder of PoliSpace, an independent space policy consultancy that he formed in early 2000. The goal of the firm is to help commercial space entrepreneurs overcome political, regulatory, and other non-technical barriers to success. He has worked with various government branches, including the US Military, NASA, NOAA, and US Congress. Muncy is a longtime advocate and activist for the space sector who frequently writes and speaks about space policy. In 1988, he founded the nonprofit space advocacy organization the Space Frontier Foundation with Rick Tumlinson and Bob Werb. He served as the Foundation’s chair of the board for six years and has also served on the board of directors for the National Space Society.
