“What did I tell you about other guys?”
Just when I think they might be okay, I’m reminded of why us Wilders have sworn off the Jacobs.
“I think you just scared us down there, that’s all.”
“Ugh,” Lance says in disgust. “Has this little infatuation with her only gotten worse? Just fuck her and be done with it. You know it can never be anything more.”
“Like I trust one of the others,” I snap. “Ouch,” Lucas says.
“You bring out the worst in him,” Lucas says, shaking his head to himself. “By breathing?” He backs the truck out of the garage carefully and hits a button on the ceiling that lowers the garage door. “Nothing gets under his skin more than you.”
“That kind of information will cost you,” he teases. “Cost me?” “A date.”
“I guess you’ll have to excuse me if I still have lingering trust issues. I know you were looking for something that night in my dorm room. You broke my door down. You went through my stuff.” Lucas’s face flushes.
“It’s more than that and you know it,” Lucas seethes. “You’d feel the same if it weren’t for the fact that you’re content being your father’s little bitch.”
“You’re despicable, Stone Jacobs. Stay away from me.”
