I really enjoy Mr. Mate's writing and this kicks off a great series. His characters are well drawn and intimate without the needless wallowing in detail that can slow the read down. He also doesn't pull motivations and techniques out of... the air. His conclusions always provide a lot of food for continued thought. This is an especially tasty new engagement. I'm in!
