His lips quirk. “I like arguing with you.” “You do?” “It’s fun. I like a challenge, and you give as good as you get.”
“He doesn’t like it when I make big changes and don’t consult him first. I knew that, and I still got the haircut anyway. And when I got home, he got mad. Honestly, I should have known better.”
squeeze. “No.” I shake my head. “He’s not sorry. He’s only sorry you got wise to him and left. Abusers don’t stop. If you go back to him now, he will hurt you, I promise.”
