God predestined the Messiah’s suffering. The New Testament confirms this idea by referring to Jesus as “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev. 13:8 NKJV). The Messiah, out of His deep love for us, committed to be slain as the antidote to sin and death even before the world’s Creation.
