Possessions and riches and fame matter very little without time. Therefore, it is how we spend it that counts. It is the memories we hold that grant us power.
your right to happiness is the same as everyone else’s. It is your birthright. You were born to find the truth. You were born to fight for justice. And more than anything, Olivia Beaufont, you were born to be happy.”
had more to say to her,” Liv argued as if this had been Hawaiki’s doing. “There is never enough time for two tethered souls on Earth.”
You must always be grateful that you had the time you did with her. This was truly a gift that most never have with those they’ve lost.”
Wasn’t that what most were trying to do? Spend time together to figure out if things were going to work? If they didn’t, that was when the real work began.
even heroes needed a day off. That way, they could rise up and stomp out an evil that had been allowed to exist for entirely too long.
true love was wanting what was better for someone. Anything short of that was only conditional love.
“No matter what role we serve in, we always have the power to fight injustices. It’s the bullies in this world who want you to believe otherwise. Like politicians hungry to control the masses. Clergy members indoctrinating their followers with wrong beliefs. Executives pushing their agendas instead of the greater good. However, it only takes the belief of one person to change everything. No matter if you are or aren’t a Mortal Seven, you have the ability to save the world, if only in small ways.”
“I believe it doesn’t matter whether it’s small or large ways that save the world,” Liv said with conviction. “At the end of the day, if we can watch the sunset with the promise of a sunrise to follow, the world was saved all the same.”
The thing about people who were driven by ego was they usually inflated their own self-worth so much that they discounted that of others, which was a huge mistake.
When we love someone, protecting what they want, even if it serves to take them away, is the greatest act of unconditional love.
Laws were good if they made sense, but if they were simply meant to control without providing justice, they were doing more harm than good in the long run.
Wasn’t life about giving the ones you loved enough space that they could be happy on their own? Helping others find their way? That
“You know, you can laugh in the rain, or you can cry, but you’re going to get wet regardless.”
“Wars are won by a wink, a gesture, or an event that transpired a millennium before the battle. Humanity has always been saved by small acts, the ones where someone gained a piece of their own puzzle, not the ones where a hero stood prodigious on a battlefield.”
“The ability to feel doesn’t make you weak. If anything, it means that life is preparing you for something that most aren’t strong enough to handle.”
‘This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector.’”
“We can knock down our enemies with a sweep of our hand, but the better way, the more sustainable way, is to build forces that will knock our enemies down and keep them there. That’s what a real leader does. They build other leaders up because that’s what the world will always need—more to champion the fight.”
“You never take more than you need and always give more than you have,”
