Indeed, to this day we occasionally get a query from a reader trying to persuade us that WMDs were found. We reply that Bush’s top officials—including Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice, and Colin Powell—have all acknowledged that there were no WMDs other than a cache of mostly decaying chemical weapons, nothing that warranted going to war over.
