“He came backstage and he was freaking out. He was so psyched,” remembers Rickly. “He was like, ‘You guys are fucking stars. You’re stars! You’re gonna be the biggest band in the world. You’re amazing live. You have magnetism. All we gotta do is get you the right person to write singles for you.’ And we were like, ‘We don’t do that.’ He just said, ‘Okay.’ And that was it.
