fucking burn.
We can never be parted, not without bloodshed.
As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
Some things break when you put too much pressure on them, but those shards they break into can be twice as deadly.
I’m obsessed with the man, always have been. Now he’s mine and I’m never letting go. Again, not for as long as I live.
“You don’t have to be ashamed that you couldn’t take someone’s life; that’s a virtue.”
We hold each other like two people who know they’re running out of chances to make things work, who realize that tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
Evil is evil, but evil with money is … relentless.
Isn’t it interesting, how a broken thing can be so beautiful?
We’re twisted fate, me and Cal.
“Bernie, I have to love as fiercely as I destroy, or I’ll rot from the inside out.”
The thing about true darkness is that it doesn’t just disappear forever. It sits, crouched and waiting at the bottom of your soul. As soon as it finds an opening, it springs and sinks its teeth in.
“Once you invite a vampire in, you can’t rescind your invitation,”
He’s a wet dream on the outside, a nightmare on the in.
“I’ve decided that I’m sick and tired of warning you. You asked for me. You may very well regret having me.”
“You asked for me, so you’ve got me.”
“You’re mine, Bernadette,” Oscar says, giving me the saddest smile I’ve ever seen on another human being. When he comes out of the kitchen and passes by me, I’m still standing there in total shock. He brushes a gentle but menacing kiss against my forehead. “I’m so unbelievably sorry about that.”
“Oh, Bernie, don’t look so scared. You’re the one person I would never hurt.”
“Get to class, Channing.” “Same to you, Blackbird,” he retorts, as if we barely know each other. As if we aren’t soul mates, tied to the same rock and willing to drown together, just so we don’t have to be separated.
“Vulnerability leaves a person open to endless pain.”
our souls are twisted together and covered in thorns. If one of us pulls away, it hurts. Those thorns cut and make us both bleed.
Stop hurting yourself. You don’t deserve it.”
“You’re not alone, Bernadette. You never were. If you need to fall, let your knees go and I’ll catch you.”
We are beautiful poison, not perfume.”
We have different fundamental principles. She thinks money and clout make up a person’s worth; I think it’s about honesty and respect. And love.
We’re not supposed to be rational, me and you.”
From the schoolyard to the wedding, she’s always been mine.
You are living proof that the world can try its hardest to crush a person’s soul and still fail. You are second chances and beautiful beginnings,
All I can do now is help her embrace the darkness.
“I would hardly call that a proper outfit,” I quip, and she cocks a brow at me. “I’d hardly call you a proper boyfriend. What was it you said to me? You asked for me, so you’ve got me.”
