let Mr. Bingley have one night of Jane’s company, without her being burdened either by illness or her hoyden sisters.
hmm. but we just established that bingley wasn't at the market where elizabeth convinces her aunt phillips to invite the otherwise uninvited netherfield party??
much of the plot so far has depended on this interaction – it's a very strange oversight.
as she moved through her aunt’s drawing room. Her younger sisters were all dancing with officers – even Mary – and Jane was partnered with Mr. Bingley.
sorry, did i miss the part where the author stated that the netherfield party would henceforth always be invited to the card party?? it was a big deal at the beginning to get them invited, but now it's just assumed they'll be there with nothing said about how they were doing it. just a passing sentence from elizabeth or someone else would do, the plot literally hinges on them being invited – this is irritating!!
“I cannot say I understand your methods, but my girls are secure – they are happy.”
MRS BENNET????? I AM FLOORED WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!! EXCUSE ME????
lmfaooo i fucking love this twist – a perfect ending honestly.
this book was really entertaining for the most part – i did find it a bit of a slog to get through at times, especially near the middle of the book, but i think that that good outweighs this.
having colonel fitzwilliam get stuck with elizabeth and darcy was a brilliant twist and i really loved his character. having miss bingley get stuck there as well was a surprise, but i loved this as well and i really loved her character and her growth. i would have liked to see more of miss bingley and elizabeth together; they're bffs in the making and i loved and wanted more!
i go through stages of wanting more information on how pairings were chosen, but i largely love not knowing. this is a really fun book and i look forward to reading it again.
