In many ways, de Broglie’s “pilot wave” interpretation is the most natural and obvious way to explain wave-particle duality. He proposed that the wave and the particle are both real, and that the wave (which became known as a pilot wave) guides the particle to its destination, like a surfer riding waves in the sea.
