“And maybe if I’m a really good boy, once we’re back on the bus, you’ll take me and Sawyer back to the bedroom and show us who’s boss?” “You’re playing with fire.” Henry wiggled his eyebrows. “Well, I’m certainly getting hot.”
“This one, darling. You’ll look amazing. Oh, it’s so fun having a blank canvas! Eduard, darling, we should call a stylist to come give the boys a little trim while we wait for alterations. I can have lunch catered! It’ll be wonderful!” “Can you get someone on such short notice?” Eduard asked. Bebe trilled out a laugh, and Henry became more convinced than ever that Bebe was something other. That sound could not have been made by a human. “For me? Darling, they’ll be here soon. This is so fun!” Henry laughed and swore he’d call Eduard darling for the next week just to drive him crazy. It’d be

“I know it’s hard to believe, but we are real. This is real.” “Come on,” Sawyer said. “How can it be? My best friend is a dragon. You’re a mage. I’m having regular sex with four men, none of whom are totally human. I’m supposed to be the mystical savior of the wizarding world, but I have zero magical ability. On the one hand, people are trying to kill me. On the other, one of my boyfriends is so rich he makes billionaires look like paupers. I’ve spoken to a goddess, an actual goddess. And have I mentioned I have no idea what I’m doing? Because that’s a big part of this. I’m pretty sure I’m

He’d learned a lot from being around Draco, Eduard, and Andvari. Draco and Eduard’s magic came from the fire element. It interacted with his air magic in a very distinctive way. During his studies, he’d seen an analogy that he’d fallen in love with. It described his relationship with Draco and Eduard perfectly. When fire and air were in sync, they worked like a hot air balloon, each helping the other rise to levels they never could on their own.
He fought back a snicker, even as Eduard stopped beside him and wrapped an arm over his shoulder. “What has you laughing?” “Your dad is wearing shorts. And you guys had me all convinced that griffins were some sort of fashion icons who would never be caught dead in such plebeian attire!”
“Oh, I’m not going to kill you Sawyer. Frey and Sol are. But they have to fuck you first. Don’t worry, though, they have a special ritual that will make you like it, at least until it’s over. The rules are very specific. Those ancient rituals tend to be so tedious. Now, what I want to know is how you were able to bring the guardians together. You must know who the chosen one is, Sawyer, and I want to find him. Just think, when I’m blessed with a child by Tiamat and I have the chosen one as the father of my child! It would be glorious!” “You’re ridiculous and demented.”
“You need to tell her what she wants to know.” “I already did,” Sawyer panted. “Not my fault she doesn’t believe me.”
Awareness began to seep back into him, and he knew he’d run out of time. His guardians weren’t going to find him. He had to get out of this mess himself. The training with Andvari helped him quell his panic. Breathe. Focus.
A huge horse pushed through the trees into the small clearing where he’d stopped. It was a silvery gray that shimmered in the moonlight. Its back was taller than his head. But instead of losing his mind to terror, he calmed. “Help me,” Sawyer whispered.
Sawyer tried not to freak out. The fireflies had led him to this creature. The goddess had a hand in it. He would be okay.
Sawyer ran his hand over the mark on Saeward’s wrist, the mark which had mysteriously appeared one day long ago with no explanation. He’d never found another with a mark like his, even though he’d searched the oceans far and wide before he gave up and found his isolated refuge. “Guardian,” Sawyer whispered. Saeward trembled. The word struck a chord deep within him, one he didn’t quite understand, but one that settled deep into his bones as right, as right as he felt wandering through strange woods earlier and coming across this injured human and knowing he had to risk exposing himself to help.
“You can save me,” Sawyer said. He ran his finger over the mark again. “I should have known the goddess would send me to you. She does that, you know. She’s sneaky.”
Sawyer lifted his hand and cupped it around Saeward’s cheek. “Why are you so sad? You found me. It was fate.”
He glanced at the mark on his wrist again. Sawyer had recognized it. He’d known its meaning. Maybe it hadn’t all been for nothing.
“The air told me he’s okay. Well, not okay, but alive. He said he needs us. He asked the air to find me and tell me where he is. He’s so fucking smart. I can’t believe he remembered. I don’t know how far, but north and sea-ward is what it said so that’s what we’re doing.”
He’d put on a brave show, but once Andvari had removed the bandage covering Sawyer’s side, Eduard had seen red. Between the bruises covering his body and his torn apart feet, Sawyer hadn’t had an easy time at all. But that claw mark. It had taken every ounce of self control he possessed to not lose control then and there. He wanted to flay Magdalen alive, and then claw her to pieces himself. No one touched his mate. No one.
Henry released their hands and turned to Andvari. “Go relieve Draco. We need him out here for a bit.” “He won’t be happy about that,” Eduard murmured. “No, he won’t. But I’m not happy those assholes are still lying there on the beach and he can torch them. So he needs to get out here and do his part.”
“Mates first,” Eduard replied. “Good boy,” Draco purred. He removed his fingers and replaced them with his cock, thrusting forward in one swift motion that drew another pleasure-filled cry from his griffin. He pounded him hard, not giving him a chance to recover from a thrust before another replaced it. He wanted Eduard to feel him for days, to know that he was loved and needed. No more of this sacrificial guilty conscience nonsense.
When the children cease their cries And true love’s light goes dark When the sisters’ interests divide and the hidden ones emerge. Nothing will stand in their way. The guardians will rise Two by fire, earth, air, water The chosen one brings strength and balance For peace and love to survive. The sisters’ interests were indeed divided. Hidden ones had emerged and they were wreaking havoc. The guardians had begun to rise. He had his two fire and one each of the others. He had one job: to bring strength and balance. Sawyer certainly didn’t feel strong and everything around him was out of balance.
“I am Kavalan, Prince of Svartalfheim, fated mate of the Chosen One.” Sawyer blinked then blinked again. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was supposed to say to that announcement. Prince Kavalan scowled at him. “Human, did you not hear what I said? Fetch your master. Tell him his prince has arrived.” The vampire guard who had stayed close choked on his own spit.
“Sure, your highness. I’ll get right on that. Come on, Pearl. We’ve got some fetching to do.”
I don’t like him.” Saeward leaned into Sawyer, pressing the long, solid length of himself along Sawyer’s back. “You don’t know him. First impressions aren’t everything.” Sawyer sighed. He supposed you couldn’t judge a book by its cover… or a fairy prince by the size of his crown. Guardian or not, though, he was going to make the prince pay for that fetch thing. He just had to think of a really good way to do it.
