Impeachment is a constitutional—and political—remedy for removing officials who abuse their enumerated powers. Judges who legislate from the bench should be forced to explain their rulings to the American people. Actual removals would no doubt be difficult, but a few impeachment trials might do wonders toward deterring the worst excesses of our robed masters.
