People watching entertained me. In the city, there was no shortage of quirky characters to observe. Small town folks had their idiosyncrasies too.
“Watch your mouth in my house, boy. You ain’t too old for soap.”
If I’d thought Easton was good looking dressed in his cowboy getup, this shirtless state with low-hanging Levi’s was going to be the death of me. How was this fair? I couldn’t think straight with those hard planes of carved muscles staring back at me. “No sleeping with the client,” I reminded myself. “Jerk off to the image later. He never has to know. Fuck me. This is so unfair.”
“Be nice. Look at his eyes, not his abs. No touching. And for the love of god, do not get hard.”
“Be right down.” I smirked at Knox’s frown as I tugged on my boots. “My gorgeous prince charmless has arrived. I best hurry, I’m pretty sure he turns into a full-fledge asshole at the stroke of midnight.”
Dad studied me a minute longer before pressing his lips into a firm line. “I sure hope you’re thinking with the right head.” I snorted. “Classy, Dad. I’ll be home later.”
“Will he bite me?” “Are you gonna stick your fingers in his mouth?” Lachlan looked horrified. “No.” “Then he won’t bite you.”
Percy sobbed, and Easton met my eyes. The look brewing in his amber spheres was dangerous. God help the kid’s father when Easton got his hands on him. I didn’t think Easton was a violent guy, but there was murder in his eyes.
“Lach?” The shortened form of my name came out weak but hit me square in the chest. “Hey, you. You didn’t think we had enough drama going on today?” A soft laugh escaped him, and he smacked his lips a few times. “I’m thirsty.”
“You’re gonna break my heart, Lachlan Montgomery. I just know it. And I’m powerless to stop it.”
“You want me to stay?” He peeled my shirt off my arms and made a rumbling noise in the back of his throat as his gaze skipped all over my bare chest. His fingers followed his eyes as he mapped my abdomen, raising goose bumps. “More than anything.”
“You know, for an asshole, I think I kinda like you.” I chuckled. “Takes one to know one. Now go to sleep, asshole. We’ll go see Percy again when you wake up.”
“Okay.” I was almost at the door when Percy spoke again. “East?” “Yeah, buddy?” “Is Lachlan your boyfriend?” I blanched. Leave it to the kid to say what everyone else danced around. “Um…” “I am,” Lachlan said, taking the chair I abandoned. “Is that cool with you?” “Yeah, that’s cool with me. East doesn’t like girls. He told me so.” Lachlan laughed. “Yeah, me neither.”
“Award-winning, I’m told.” I grinned. “Well, I bought a half a dozen to share around.” “I could kiss you.” “Eww,” Percy called from his dangling position. “No kissing.”
He kissed me again, and we lost track of time and our surroundings until a jaded eight-year-old whined about grossness.
“It’s a huge fuckin’ deal. I want to know whose ass I’m kissin’ for the rest of my life.” “Soap for dinner for everyone,” Percy chimed in, drawing the two men’s attention from their fight.
“I am cleaned up. Do I even look dirty?” “Well, then how about you find something to do for five minutes, or you’re going to see kissing.” Percy made a disgusted noise and ran off with his ears covered. “I don’t want to hear it either. You guys are so gross.”
“Do you know how many straight guys I’ve fucked?” Easton growled and attacked my mouth. “Mine. Don’t talk shit like that.”
“We can be late. I’m not done with you yet.” I crushed my mouth to his and walked him until his back hit the counter. Elaina would be pissed, but I needed to spend quality time with my man first. My fiancé. My future husband. The man I loved with all my heart.
