They didn’t have to keep her updated on what was going on with me, truth or not. But they did anyway. At the back of my mind I’d worried she would be going crazy having not heard from me. But this whole time they made sure she hadn’t sat there wondering where I was, or worse, called the police, FBI, and the national guard to go look for me. I hated that she was being lied to, but I understood why it was necessary. And I was touched they’d thought to do that.
