These two gospels couldn’t be more different. The rule of faith expresses a Creator God who became flesh and invites us to follow him in loving God and our neighbor. A God who was crucified, buried, and physically resurrected to save mankind from sin and death. A God who will return again to judge every single person who has ever lived and determine their eternal destiny. By denying original sin and God’s plan to redeem humans and reconcile them to himself, the progressive gospel gives us an impotent deity who can only stand in “solidarity” with humans in our suffering and evil but can’t cure
