One time, my parents and I even went on Yom Kippur. At one point, I remember my mother saying, “Who says we aren’t at temple? We’re at a temple…of the Forbidden Eye!”
So as I immerse myself in editing a book about my relationship with the idea of “normal,” suddenly that word doesn’t represent some ethereal societal construct—it is, in hindsight, the entire world before March of 2020.
I first want to acknowledge you for reading the acknowledgments. Whether you’re sitting on the toilet passing the time, using this section as a way to teach your child to read, or just craved some more of my silky-smooth prose, thank you for being interested in the people I want to thank.
