Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia signed a bill, HB 481, that would ban abortion as soon as cardiac activity was detected (around five to six weeks, before most people even know they are pregnant).10 In addition, people who self-manage their own abortions or travel out of state for an abortion would be charged with murder.
