A search of Twitter, often maligned as a haven for online bullies, reveals other researchers (rightly) calling Carney’s statement ‘brave’, ‘impressive’, ‘admirable’, ‘the way forward’, an example of ‘how to deal with failure to replicate one’s work’ and a ‘remarkable demonstration of scientific integrity’.
