Three years later America’s Talking morphed without Ailes into MSNBC, and Rupert Murdoch hired him to create Fox News. Republican elected officials continued helping their great media pooh-bah. The first Bush administration had suspended the federal antitrust rule forbidding networks from also owning the shows they aired, then New York’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani successfully pressured the local cable operator, owned by Time Warner, to carry Fox News.
