If I’d had people close to me who could have advised me on these kinds of life decisions, they could have helped me make sure I was prepared before I took a leap and went to college. On top of having a sink-or-swim attitude toward us kids once we turned eighteen, my parents didn’t know much about the ins and outs of going to college, despite all the wisdom they gave me in other areas of life.
