I advocated strongly on the campaign trail that there is more to be celebrated in doing the work that helps others feel like they truly belong in this country than shunning them and pushing them into the arms of hateful people like Donald Trump. While making no excuses for hatred in any form, if we want change, then it’s on us to help make space for that change as well.
