Diesel’s face splits with a grin. “I think I’m in love. Do you think she would shoot me if I ask?”
I’ll make her beg for it, crave it until she caves…then I’ll finally fuck her.
They’re going to learn that money can’t buy obedience. I’m no man’s object. They are going to regret the day they took me. Vipers? Bitch, please, I bite too.
She fights, bucking and kicking. All it does is make my already hard cock twitch in my jeans as I imagine her doing that while I fuck her. I bet she fucks like she fights—hard, fast, and wild. She might not survive it, but I will have her.
I freeze as he strokes his thumb across it, his eyes scrutinising and clinical. Cold. Like he isn’t affected, like his touch isn’t doing strange fucking things to me.
“I know, go, do what you need to do to beat this. But then come back to us,” he orders before leaving. Sucking in a breath, I let his words guide me. Come back to us.
Diesel went over it a long time ago, but he learned how to live in the dark. Kenzo walks that line, and Ryder? Ryder holds it all back with pure fucking strength. Me? I beat it down.
“Oh, Little Bird, I caught a little bird,” he murmurs, licking my ear. “Tut, tut, eavesdropping like that, naughty little bird. Do you know what they get?”
After all, prey always recognises a predator, and Diesel? Diesel is all predator.
“You did, man, that was hot as hell.” He nods to me and then looks at Kenzo. “Isn’t she amazing?”
I will have you on the edge, nearly coming from my punishment alone, and leave you for everyone to see…to see how much you want it. The very people you claim to hate.”
Do you know what monsters fear, Little Bird?” “What?” she whispers shakily. “The bigger monster,” I whisper, licking her lips. “They fear me.”
might actually be it. But a small part of my psyche calls me a liar, accuses me of wanting to look good for them. I kill that tiny piece. Who says your inner self is right all the time? Really, she’s just a snotty, stuck-up bitch. I don’t
I still remember the way she took down Garrett and tried to attack me. My cock hardens at the memory. I wonder if she’ll fight me like that when we fuck.
I nod at Kenzo who crosses behind the man, his gun drawn. I draw my own again and press it to his head. He might be huge, but I have taken down bigger and more powerful men than this. “You ever call her bitch or insult her again, and I pull this trigger, do you understand me?” I murmur, my voice low and deadly.
“I will get my bat on you again,” she hisses, making me laugh. She smiles back, and I shake my head. I look up to see everyone gawking at me in shock. Eyes narrowing and laughter stopping, I glare at them all as they glance between her and me. Ryder’s lips tip up in a tiny smile before it disappears. Red grins at me. “Good to see you laugh again, boy.” I want to die.
Ryder looks pissed. “I suspect if they want a war, they are going to get one.” “So-so I can go?” the guy whimpers. I smirk, and Ryder grins. “No, you’re going to be a message, like I said. Now, please hold still and try to breathe. This will hurt.” We all sit back and watch Ryder’s handiwork. I did learn from the best, after all. I might be cruel and crazy, but Ryder…he knows exactly where to cut, where to hit, where to slice to inflict the most pain.
“You called her bitch?” Ryder asks, dropping the hammer to the floor. “You dare insult our princess?”
“There is nowhere in this world you can go, nowhere you can escape us, princess.”
This isn’t a game or a way to gain information. He needed to fight like he needed to breathe. His body is finally relaxing, his shoulders rolling as he cracks his neck, and a nasty smile curls his lips.
He goes quiet. “Do I remind you of him sometimes?” I debate his question. “Yes, but you have something he never did.” “What’s that?” he inquires, looking at me. “Me.” I smirk. “He had no one to drag him back down, to stop him before he went too far. You have his hunger, his smarts, and yes, his anger. But you also have a family that genuinely cares for you. We are all a bit messed up, but we know how to keep each other sane. You never have to worry about being him, I would never let you. I would kill you first,” I vow, and he smiles, a genuine one,
He told me he was scared that he wasn’t horrified, that it felt right…that he was a monster like my father. I promised I would never let him be. I will keep that promise. He gave up his childhood, his soul, for me. I would do anything for him.
“Let’s begin, shall we?” I grin, and I hear my little bird enter the room, but she won’t be just watching this time, no, she’ll be helping. She wants to be one of us? Then this is how it’ll happen. “Little Bird, hand me the large knife,” I instruct. I hear her hesitate, and I look over at her. “Now, Little Bird.”
I lift her from the floor until our lips meet. It’s a raw, painfilled kiss, and brings me back from the brink like nothing else can. Replacing the impression of flames licking at my skin with her softness. The taste of smoke with her sweetness. The sound of my mum’s screams with her moan which I swallow.
“I told you, you’re ours, Little Bird, and you’re never getting away from us. This is just to show people. You wear our marks, we wear yours.”
Those who love us have the opportunity to hurt us the worst, and in my experience, they always do.
She belongs in our world, she shook it up and made us realise we were losing ourselves. With her, I’m myself. With her, I’m happy. And now I’m going to take her to the one place I never take anyone.
“Do they chafe you? I got the worst chafe from them, you know? Especially when you start sweating a lot, and in leather that’s all the time, am I right?” I ask him. He grins wider. “Baby powder.” “Huh,” I say seriously. “I’ll have to try that, thanks.”
That’s the thing, though, life doesn’t owe you a goddamn fucking thing. It doesn’t owe you life, you have to fight for it to endure and survive. And I did. It’s filled with moments, of winding paths and unexpected turns. Each person that comes into your life offers you a new world, a new place and feelings, not always good, and from each one, we have the opportunity to learn. Whether we accept those lessons is on us. From my dad, I learned to accept pain, to understand how strong my body is, even when it’s broken repeatedly, and from that, I know I can survive this. Each person has taught me
...more
It’s going to be harder to protect her because she’s unpredictable and wild, but when I saw her tonight…when she truly became one of us, it was magnificent. Poetry in motion. She was not just a Viper tonight, she was the Viper. She was ours. And we protect what is ours. Always.
For a boy who lost everything to a man who lived in fire and blood, Little Bird is my freedom. My second chance. My love.
