In the previous section, we looked at the revivalist Charles Finney, one of the significant figures in the Second Great Awakening. Rapid turnarounds in morality took place where he preached. It was reported that 80% of individuals who came to the Lord remained in church some 25 years later. Remarkable. We know of Charles Finney but probably have never heard of Daniel Nash, an associate of Finney. Nash was quiet. He had pastored in a day gone by but did not fare too well in a local church setting. At the age of 46, he was considered too old to be a pastor. When one door closes, another opens.
